The 113 acre Croton Point Landfill closed for operation in 1986 and was capped under a consent order between the NYSDEC and Westchester County. Savin Engineers provided construction administration on the capping of the landfill.

The capping involved filling the landfill with over 550,000 cubic yards of clean fill, installation of a landfill gas collection system, and covering the entire landfill with polyethylene liner, natural cover and other capping material.

Savin Engineers closely monitored the entire capping operation coordinating with various State and local officials, contractors, consultants and subconsultants for successful completion of the project. The project was completed in 1995.
