Certain areas in the City of Dorchester were prone to flooding even under minor rainfall conditions. In order to correct this problem the Boston Water Sewer Commission commenced the sewer separation study.
Savin Engineers provided flow monitoring and rain gauging services. This data was then used as part of a model to estimate and project effects under various rainfall conditions and to determine the flow under such conditions.
Savin also inspected 8,000 linear feet of CSO outfall via walk-through TV. The sediment in the oufalls was collected at regular intervals and sent for analysis.
